Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 550 entries for its upcoming Midlantic May Two-Year-Olds in Training sale, to be held Monday and Tuesday, May 19-20, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md.
Recent graduates of the sale include 2024 Eclipse champion male sprinter Straight No Chaser, an earner of more than $2.6 million to date. Straight No Chaser, whose victory in the Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint (Grade 1) is featured on the catalogue’s front cover, also captured this year’s Riyadh Dirt Sprint presented by Saudi National Bank (G2) on Saudi Cup night at King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh. He is joined on the cover by 2024 Grade 1-winners Sacred Wish, winner of the Matriarch (G1), and Full Count Felicia, winner of the E.P. Taylor (G1).
In addition, the catalogue’s back cover features recent graded stakes-winning graduates Dazzling Move, Irish Maxima, Non Compliant, Florida-bred Sabatini and Tirupati.
“Midlantic May is the only 2-year-old sale to produce an Eclipse Champion in 2024 in Straight No Chaser,” Midlantic Director of Sales Paget Bennett said. “The dirt track at Timonium continues to be the launching point for the careers of top-level horses both domestically and internationally with Grade 1 success on both dirt and turf.”
The under tack show will be held over three sessions, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 13-15. Each under tack show session will begin at 8 a.m. EST. The 150th Preakness (G1) will be held at nearby Pimlico on Saturday, May 17, and the sale will follow on May 19 and 20. Each sale session will begin at 11 a.m. EST.
“Our consignors have supported us with another strong group of 2-year-olds this year,” Bennett continued. “We look forward to welcoming buyers to Timonium in a month’s time to shop a strong catalogue and enjoy top class racing.”
The catalogue may now be viewed online and will also be available via the equineline sales catalogue app. Print catalogues will be available beginning April 22.
Fasig-Tipton will also offer a supplemental catalogue and is now accepting entries.
