The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine’s 17th annual Healthy Horses Conference is scheduled for Friday, July 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST at the Straughn Center and UF College of Veterinary Medicine at 2142 Shealy Drive in Gainesville, Fla.

Healthy Horses is an educational symposium for equine enthusiasts interested in learning more about successful horse health care and management.

The one-day conference includes lectures delivered by UF faculty, hands-on labs, a trade show and live equine demonstrations. A catered lunch and door prizes are included in registration.

This year’s topics include equine first aid and emergency management, proper bandaging technique, conditions of the eye, infectious disease update, herbicide recommendations and information about a new clinical trial for equine asthma. The University of Florida is dedicated to promoting equine health and wellness through education.

The program is limited to 130 participants and sells out every year.

“We hope you will join us for this annual event. It is a wonderful opportunity to see the UF Large Animal Hospital, meet our veterinary team, and pick up some new information along the way,” said Sally Anne DeNotta, DVM, PhD, DACVIM at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine.

The cost is $35 per person and $25 for students. To register go to https://extension.vetmed.ufl.edu/equine-extension/healthy-horses-conference/
