Four juveniles worked an eighth mile in :9.80 to make up the list of the fastest furlong works at the Thursday under tack show at OBS Training Center. Four 2-year-olds went a quarter mile in :20.60, the fastest times of the day at that distance.
Thursday was the fifth of seven days of under tack works by 2-year-olds set to hit the auction block next week in the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in training set for Tuesday through Friday. Each session will start at 10:30 a.m. EST.
The under tack show will continue through Saturday, starting each day at 8:00 a.m. EST. Tomorrow, Hips 864 – 1035 are scheduled to breeze.

“[The time] wasn’t surprising from that horse,” Scanlon said. “We’ve just been really high on him all year. He looks like a real 2-year-old type. He’s a real strong horse, big hip, big, gorgeous walk. He’s just a beautiful athlete. He’s a little stronger than some of the Essential Qualities. I think some of them have looked a little more like they’re going to develop later, but he’s much more mature.
“He’s out of an Into Mischief mare and I can see a lot of Into Mischief in him.”
Hip 788 is a bay filly from the Pick View Consignment of Joe Pickerrell and Courtney Roberts. She is by freshman sire Yaupon out of the stakes-winning mare Big Time, by Astrology. Big Time is a half-sister to Grade 3-placed, stakes-winner Classy John.
