A Florida-bred filly by Yaupon produced the fastest quarter-mile work while a Florida-bred colt by Galilean had one of the two fastest times for an eighth mile Tuesday during the third day of under tack works previewing next week’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales Spring Sale.
Hip 363, a chestnut filly by Mitole, worked a quarter mile in :20.40 from the Tom McCrocklin consignment. Bred in Florida by Rustlewood Farm Inc., she is out of multiple stakes-place Sadie Be Good, a Florida-bred mare by Big Drama. The filly is a half-sister to stakes-placed Cairama and stakes-placed Florida-bred Maverama. She was a $36,000 purchase by Mustang Farms at last year’s OBS October Yearling Sale.
Hip 356 is a Florida-bred colt by first crop sire Galilean and worked an eighth mile :9.80 Tuesday. Consigned by Abraham Gardea’s Next Level Thoroughbreds as agent, the colt is out of the Grade 2-winning mare Royale Michele, by Elusive Quality and is a half-brother to Royale Paradise, dam of Grade 3-placed Queen of Thorns and stakes-placed Bano Solo. Royale Michele is a half-sister to multiple stakes-producer Emma Carly and Elusive Royalty, the graddam of stakes-winner Coming in Hot. The colt was bred in Florida by Heather Larson and was sold at last year’s OBS October Yearling Sale where he was bought for $24,000 by Vincent Conanan.
“He’s been showing us that he could really run from the beginning,” Gardea said. “He always showed he had a lot of speed and ever since I put the blinkers on him, he’s just turned into a different horse. He’s more focused. He’s got a good personality, a good mind. He’s just a good horse to be around.
“The is my first year for the consignment so it’s really nice to have a horse like that.”
Also working a eighth mile in :9.80 was Hip 416, a bay colt my Into Mischief out of Silk Route, by Empire Maker. Consigned by Kings Equine as agent, the colt is a half-brother to stakes-winer Taraz. His second dam is Grade 1-placed Jibe, dam of stakes-producers Change Tack, Overseen and Sharp Point.

Twenty-eight juveniles went an eighth mile in :10 flat including three Florida-breds.
Hip 377, a dark bay or brown filly by Girvin out of Satulah by Gone West consigned by Dynasty Thoroughbreds. Satulah is out of graded stakes-winner War Thief. The colt is fully registered for the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes and was bred in Florida by Don Ming.

Hip 401, a bay colt by Girvin out of She Can’t Help It by OBS grad The Big Beast consigned by Wavertree Stables. She Can’t Help It is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1-winner and Florida-bred OBS grad World of Trouble. The colt is fully registered for the FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes and was bred in Florida by Darsan Inc.

Hip 510, a dark bay or brown filly by Mucho Macho Man out of Take a Stroll by Stroll consigned by Grade One Investments LLC. The filly is from the female family of champion Afleet Alex. The filly was bred in Florida by Jimmy Gladwell.
The under tack shows will run each day through Saturday each session beginning at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday breeze show will feature Hips 520-691.
The OBS Spring Sale will run four days next week, Tuesday through Thursday. Each days auction begins at 10:30 a.m.
